Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the tradition of Sri K Pattabhi Jois is a practice of correct breathing (Ujjayi Pranayama), Postures (Asana), Bandhas (locks) and gazing points (Driste). Vinyasa means breath synchronised movement and is used to link the postures together in a precise order. 


Each posture in the series provides preparation for the next one allowing the body to open safely. Strength, stamina and sweat are unique aspects of this traditional yoga system. It is a demanding practice that requires considerable effort and dedication but one that brings enormous benefit to the body and mind.
